RAWANG: Gamuda Bhd's Gamuda Luge Gardens is reinforcing Selangor's position as a premier tourist destination, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said.
He said the addition of Gamuda Luge Gardens, featuring the first-ever Skyline Luge in Malaysia and a vibrant entertainment hub in the northern Klang Valley corridor, is expected to boost tourist arrivals in the state.
"Last year, Selangor welcomed 6.54 million tourists. With these new attractions, it supports the state to achieving our target of 7. 0 million tourist arrivals for Visit Selangor Year 2025.
"This development not only enhances the state's unique tourism offerings but also aligns with our broader strategy to attract leading international brands and elevate the overall visitor experience in Selangor," Amiruddin said at the launch of Gamuda Luge Gardens here today.
Gamuda Luge Gardens is located in the popular Gamuda Gardens township, featuring a variety of attractions designed for family fun,l.
This includes the renowned Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur and the family friendly FunPark and waterplay attraction, Big Bucket Splash.
Gamuda Bhd chairman Tan Sri Ambrin Buang said since its soft launch in December 2023, the entertainment hub has quickly become a landmark destination in the northern Klang Valley corridor, attracting over 420,000 visitors including overseas visitors.
"This underscores our dedication to good placemaking for our community by creating places where they can be out in nature, get to know one another and ultimately to form close-knitted communities that support one another," he said.
He added that as Gamuda Gardens continues to mature with a current population of over 8,000 residents, the company is looking forward to welcoming new additions and strategic partnerships like Skyline Luge to add value to the residents.
"Besides leisure and entertainment, we also look forward to having more food and beverage (F&B) operators for our commercial developments, clinics and pharmacies, schools and lifestyle amenities that will help enrich the life of our community," he said.
The launch signifies a new era of excitement at the township, with the unveiling of two new attractions, signifying the full operations of FunPark.
These include the ferris wheel Eye of Gardens, officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the tallest and largest ferris wheel in a theme park, and the thrilling Vroomerang ride.
With these additions, FunPark now offers a complete experience, complementing its existing attractions: Jellycup Twist, Fruity Frenzy, Jumpshot, Carousel, and the 10,000-square-foot Big Bucket Splash waterplay area.
As FunPark and Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur ignite the excitement within Gamuda Luge Gardens, the next chapter unfolds with The Atrium.
This mixed-use development plot, located adjacent to Skyline Luge and FunPark, will be unveiled in phases, boasting a diverse tenant mix comprising F&B, retail, entertainment, and more, to cater to the thriving community at Gamuda Gardens and its surrounding vicinity.
